A report with this submission id already exists, so Evinor refused to file it a second time. When POST /v1/reports is sent with an Idempotency-Key, the submission id is derived from that key (per API key), so the same key always means the same report.

Within 24 hours a retry with the same key simply replays the original response (see Idempotency). After that window the stored response is gone, and a retry reaches the duplicate check instead and gets this problem.

Common causes​

  • Retrying a report submission with the same Idempotency-Key more than 24 hours after the first attempt.
  • Retrying with the same Idempotency-Key after a first attempt whose response you never received (a timeout or dropped connection), when that attempt did file the report.

How to resolve​

The original report was filed. The problem body carries no report id; find the report with GET /v1/reports. To file a genuinely new report, use a new Idempotency-Key. See Reporting events.
